We were planning to go to Venice and meet up with Roberto, a guy who works at La Scala Esspresso company. He sounded very excited to have us come and show Monte around. Monte was really looking forward to it, but with Paige not well it would have been a very full day and we didn't think it was fair to put her in that position of having to go. So, we basically stopped our plans on this leg of our trip until she is back to normal. Lucky for us, at least we are in Italy...not a bad place to be!
Surprisingly, we have only come across two couples that spoke English while in Verona, and only three total in the week we have been here. It seems we are traveling "off season" with only a few people at our first B &B in Mittenwald, and since then we have only had one other couple at the places we have stayed. It is quiet except for the cities. I find it interesting that we hear music in our B & B's, restaurants, etc. and it is all American music that we hear at home. That surprises me! We heard some Italian music at a rest stop on the highway, but that was it.
Monte is getting good at Italian driving. He zips in and out of traffic and yesterday after we parked in a "locals parking lot" ( according to Marco) we had to back out because someone parked in the middle of the driveway. I think that is the Italian way, and we are getting use to it now.
Here is our B & B, very Italian on the outside and very modern inside. Beautiful view overlooking the city!
