Burgundy, France day 9, June 30

Off we go to the burgundy region of France. We stopped to get gas and Monte went for the green handle... diesel. He decided to ask someone and found that he was ready to put gas in a diesel car! He almost had a heart attack! We are getting 48 miles to the gallon, not bad except that it costs about $8.00 a gallon!

Our GPS is a life-saver! Most of the roads we drive are small country roads. What a fun drive! We pass beautiful countryside and then go through old villages. Seems everywhere in France we can't stop taking pictures.

These pictures are just snapped from the car window as we drive.

This scene below had us confused. We knew it wasn't a funnel cloud, but what....?

Yep.....

We arrived at Guedelon, it is a site where people are building a castle using only 13 century tools. The project is a 26 year plan starting in 1997. It was pretty cool, but tons of kids there on field trips, so.....we stayed maybe an hour.

As we drive through France we come along street signs and we often don't know what they mean. We came by one today that was a blue round sign with the red circle crossed out. It made us nervous so we stopped to look up the sign. There were no cars so we just stopped in the road. We had a laugh when we found out it means, " Do not stop"!

We arrived at our next B & B, our only repeat because we love it so much. We enjoyed dinner with some Brits in the dining room.

YES, it is all about the food!
